Great Harbor Cay to hold Wahoo Tournament February 22-25

Plans for the Ninth Annual Wahoo Tournament in Great Harbor Cay, Bahamas are well underway.  The fun event, which offers a Calcutta purse, will take place February 22-25, and is expected to attract anglers from the United States of America and The Bahamas.

Among some of the weekend’s planned activities are a captain’s meeting and reception on February 22, two days of fishing on February 23rd and 24th, a chill and grill party featuring live entertainment, junkanoo rush out and a gala awards dinner...

The New Providence Women’s Basketball Association (NPWBA) is the only remaining female league, formed out of the New Providence Basketball Association in 2003 when Mynez Cargill-Sherman spearheaded a breakaway when she found the women leagues lacked support and took a backseat to those of the men.

“Right now women’s basketball is still struggling,” said Ms. Cargill-Sherman, outgoing President of NPWBA. “However, with sponsorship from Consolidated Water Corporation (CWCO) we’ve developed a promising junior program which will eventually feed into the women’s league.”...

The Eleuthera Junior Baseball League (EJBL) held its Opening Day ceremonies on Saturday February 10th, 2018 at the Rock Sound Primary School Baseball Park. It was an exciting time in Rock Sound as teams from Rock Sound, Tarpum Bay and Palmetto Point were in attendance.

The first game began at 11:00am where the Palmetto Point Legends (2017 defending champs in the 9-12 division) defeated the Tarpum Bay Mosquitoes 9 to 7 in a keenly contested game...

The Lima 2019 Coordination Commission (CoCom) visit came to close today in the Peruvian capital as Chair Keith Joseph expressed his full confidence in the Organising Committee’s ability to deliver a successful Pan American Games.
 
During the final meeting of the two-day visit, Mr Joseph highlighted that Coordination Commission members were “particularly impressed by the progress in the construction of the Athletes’ Village” and “pleased to see the positive results from the Government-to-Government agreement between Peru and the UK.”...

With darkness closing in, Brittany Lincicome shined bright down the stretch Sunday at the $1.4 million Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic, firing a final-round 7-under-par 66 with birdies at four of her last five holes at Ocean Club Golf Course at Atlantis Resort to successfully defend her title.
