WSC spreads Christmas cheer at Senior Citizens Center

While Christmas is traditionally a time for food, friends and family, some of our country’s elderly and most vulnerable citizens are often those who do not have holiday luxuries. With that in mind, the Water & Sewerage Corporation set out to bring holiday cheer to patients of the Yellow Elder Senior Citizens’ Center. Armed with gifts, games, Christmas carols as well as a traditional holiday meal with all the fixings, the team of WSC volunteers visited with those at the center to spread much needed Christmas cheer.

WSC ongoing water transmission main repairs on Cambridge Lane impacting customers in Central New Providence – Dec. 3rd

The Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC) wishes to advise our valued customers and the general public that we experienced a major failure of our water transmission main on Cambridge Lane, off Blue Hill Road North around 6:00 AM this morning, Sunday December 03rd 2017.  WSC teams immediately responded and commenced the required repairs.  Unfortunately, the initial repair work was not successful and the teams have now commenced a more extensive repair plan.  These works are anticipated to be completed by late this evening.

This transmission main failure has resulted in low pressure and/or no water to customers in Central New Providence, bounded on the east by Village Road, south to Wulff Road and west to Nassau Street...

Airport to test emergency response in full-scale Aircraft Crash Drill on November 29

On Wednesday November 29, 2017, stakeholders at Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) will conduct a full-scale emergency exercise. The drill scenario will begin at 6 p.m. with a call to NAD’s Operations Center from an MD80 aircraft inbound from ‘Safe-ville’ declaring an emergency landing at LPIA.

Local and international aviation regulations require airports to establish an emergency plan commensurate with the aircraft operations and other activities conducted at the airport.
