Rotary Burger Van Gets Facelift from Bahamas Waste

Bahamians living on New Providence in the past two decades have likely seen the Rotary Club of East Nassau’s Burger van, which has become synonymous with the now world famous ‘Rotary Burger’. Over the past 20 years the Burger Van has been well recognized at fundraising efforts and assisted countless charities like BAARK, The Bahamas Humane Society, Bahamas National Trust and the Junior Baseball League of Nassau achieve their financial goals.

BTC recently held its fourth annual Future Leaders Conference, with over one hundred Junior Achievers participating. The event included a “Shark Tank” which challenged the achievers to create and pitch a business idea to a team of judges. Keva Bridgewater, BTC’s JA Executive Advisor said, “We realize that this annual conference is beneficial to our achievers as they are able to get first-hand information from young passionate entrepreneurs that have started from the ground up.”

The Ranfurly Home for Children, currently home to 16 boys and 13 girls, recently received a donation that will help support the independent organisation. Christmas in January by the Antique Auto Club

For the past 27 years the Antique Auto Club of The Bahamas has been quietly conducting an annual program to provide Christmas gifts and food packages to about 80 needy children in two Primary schools in Nassau. In 2016, the program was expanded to include three schools and about 125 children.

Unfortunately, last December, one of the Schools, Uriah McPhee, was unable to accommodate the Club’s program as the school had a serious plumbing program and was in the midst of repairs...
